Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Thanksgiving is only a couple of days away. I went to the store the other day and every year it is harder and harder to find Thanksgiving decor. It goes from Halloween straight to Christmas. Don’t get me wrong- I love Christmas! However, it is important to remember what Thanksgiving is and what it represents: being grateful for those around you and what you have. The truth is, you don’t need a lot of money to decorate a table for Thanksgiving-in fact it’s more about who you are sharing that table with that matters. To create our table, I used old decorations from Halloween like pumpkins and fall leaves; to decorate the table for Thanksgiving. We usually just set the table up for guests and remove it for all the food. So, we really don’t like to go to overboard since we end up removing it once everyone is ready to eat. My family is a mixture of a lot of cultures- we have Italian, Spanish & Brazilian. So that translates into a lot of beautiful food dishes for everyone to enjoy.
Here are some table decorating ideas:
I always like to have a kids table where they can eat and color. My grandmother would always leave a small chocolate Turkey on each place setting for us and I looked forward to that little treat every year. Plus, keeping the kids busy helps Mommies and Daddies eat a little longer in peace (lol). Tommy is too young for crayons but my toddler nieces and nephews will love this activity after dinner.
