Easy (2 point Weight Watchers) Strawberry Shake

The other day on stories, I was sharing how I am making some subtle changes to my every day routine. The truth is, after I had Zacky in the beginning of the COVID pandemic, I had a ton of anxiety.  I had a newborn, this ugly virus was out of control, we were under a quarantine, and I felt like I couldn’t leave my home (even to just go for a walk). I always feel like being able to get out of the house even for a 15 minute walk is so important for a person’s mental health especially after you have a baby and your hormones are going crazy. I remember for Easter, like many of you, it felt so lonely because we couldn’t have any family or friends around. 

 I finally got sick and tired of being “worried, afraid, and stressed” about what I can’t control. So, I have decided to make subtle changes that will help me to lose the baby weight and the extra stress.

Personal changes I’ve made

Eat healthier and go outside more

Stop reading so much on social media

Stop watching the news all day


I just started doing these last few things and I have felt like a weight is off my shoulders. Do I watch the news? yes! But I stopped watching it all day. The constant virus death tolls and people talking about the economy etc was starting to worry me to the point where I couldn’t sleep. Do I go on social media? Yes! but I allow myself a certain window, and then I’m off it. I even put my phone away from me to reinforce this. If it means, posting less, then so be it. I think it’s really important to protect your mental health. I want to be “present” for my kids and not always stressed to the point that I can’t enjoy my babies. This might all sound funny to you or you might relate to it, but I think that protecting your mental health and doing what’s best for you, so you can be the best YOU is extremely important.


Weight Loss with Weight Watchers

Okay, so on to the shakes I’ve been making. Part of my journey has been tracking my daily points with Weight Watchers. I love WW because it allows me to eat what I want but with in a limit. So for example, I am Italian and my husband is Brazilian. We eat a lot of rice and pasta. I still want to do that but now I measure it to make sure that I am eating not too much of the wrong thing. That’s where the shakes come in. I drink it during the day to help me stay full and it actually helps my sweet tooth too!.

Heres’s the recipe:

  1. I add a cup or a handful of ice, strawberry, pineapple, blueberry and banana (if I have it). You can add spinach too!
  2. 1 scoop of Collagen Peptides- helps improve collagen in your body
  3. 1 cup of non fat Greek yogurt or any non fat yogurt you like. 
  4. Add water up to 24-32oz (depending on how much you will drink or if you are sharing)
  5. Blend for one minute and you have a yummy creamy smoothie (2 Smart Points for Weight Watchers)
